A. L. WAGNER APPRAISAL
GROUP, INC. was an ougrowth of A. L. Wagner & Co. which was started
in 1970 by Alvin L. Wagner, Jr., SRA, RM, SCRP (retired). A.L. Wagner
Appraisal Group was started in 2000 and formed as an Illinois corporation
in 2006. This appraisal firm has proudly served Northern Illinois and
the Chicago area for over 50 years.
Alvin L. Wagner III, known as "Chip," is a third generation real estate
appraiser who began his career at a very young age. Chip co-signed his
first appraisal report before he had a drivers license back in 1984.
Chip worked for the family business throughout his high school and college
years where he was trained by his father. Upon graduation from Bradley
University with a Business major in 1990, Chip joined the firm full
time. Chip has earned the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute; the IFA designation from the National Association of
Independent Fee Appraisers; and the ASA designation from the American Society of Appraisers. Chip served on
the Board of Directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute
and served as the Chapter President in 2011.
His father, Alvin
L. Wagner, Jr., SRA, RM, SCRP, grandfather Alvin L. Wagner, and grand-uncle
Percy E. Wagner, MAI, CRE have
been in the real estate banking, development, sales and appraisal business
since 1914.
In 2000, Alvin Jr.
began enjoying his retirement after 30 years of self-employment and
now spends winters in Fort Myers, FL fishing and golfing, and summers
back in the Chicago area.
On the national scene, Chip has been recognized for his outstanding
contributions to the relocation industry for more than 25 years. He
is a recognized industry speaker and nationally published author. Chip
holds Worldwide ERC's Senior Certified Relocation Professional (SCRP)
designation - of which only 13 active appraisers in the United States
currently hold this distinction. He was inducted into the organization's Hall of Leaders in 2011. Chip is a past president in the elite
Relocation Appraisers and Consultants (RAC),
a national organization of appraisers specializing in relocation. His
firm has earned numerous awards for accuracy, professionalism, and service
by many different relocation clients.
Chip resides in
Naperville, IL and is married to Debbie, and has a daughter Brooke and
a son Christopher.
